A high-voltage and innovative show, Fast Forward was packed with humour, satire and music

With 90 one-hour episodes screening from 1989 to 1992, it was one of the most successful Australian comedy shows ever, topping the ratings and winning awards.

Fast Forward was produced by Steve Vizard, who was the executive producer, as well as a writer and performer on the show. It starred Jane Turner, Gina Riley, Magda Szubanski, Marg Downey, Michael Veitch, Peter Moon and Ernie Dingo, as well as guests and supporting stars including Gerry Connolly and Brian Dawe.

Some of the show’s characters have become favourites of the Australian comedy landscape, such as Pixie Anne Wheatley, Gina Hard-Faced Bitch, the Dodgey Brothers and the extraordinary purse-mouthed Chenille from Chenille’s Institute de Beauté and House of Hair Removal.
