The Royal Flying Doctor Service

This inspirational documentary series goes behind the scenes of Australia’s Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The series observes the daily working lives of the dedicated medical team, meeting a number of patients. Set in Broken Hill, the program reveals the vast distances covered by the RFDS, the colourful characters of the bush and the commitment and dedication of the doctors, nurses and pilots.

Every year they travel a total of 20 million kilometres, treat approximately 250,000 patients and make about 33,000 aerial evacuations.

This series had unprecedented access to the RFDS as it attended medical emergencies in remote locations and helped to save lives.
