A special event series of the heart-warming classic ‘This Is Your Life’ will air on Channel 7 in 2022, produced by ITVSA.
The Seven Network and ITV Studios Australia have announced the exciting return of one of Australia’s longest running and most acclaimed television series, This Is Your Life, debuting on Channel 7 and 7plus later this year.
Beloved across Australia for placing the spotlight on some of the nation’s most successful, admired and fascinating characters, This Is Your Life will return as a series of special events produced by ITV Studios Australia.
This Is Your Life celebrates one iconic Australian at a time, offering revealing insights, emotional reunions and never-before-seen footage from their closest colleagues, friends and family, including international names and stellar surprise performers.
Acclaimed journalist and presenter Melissa Doyle will return to Seven to host the new special event series. The former Sunrise host will be front and centre on the revamped show.
“I am honoured to continue the legacy of such an iconic program as This Is Your Life,” Doyle said.
Seven’s Director of Network Programming, Angus Ross, said: “This Is Your Life was an iconic and incredibly successful show for many years. The time feels right for it to return. We can’t wait to bring the format into 2022, engaging both new viewers and the generations of Australians who remember the show fondly and will welcome its return.”
ITV Studios Australia CEO and Managing Director, David Mott, said: “We are honoured to be producing the return of this nostalgic and warm-hearted format that is so well known to Australian television. It will be a true celebration, along with a few surprises, of our iconic Australians and much-loved personalities, where everyone can come together to enjoy these special event nights on Seven. There has never been a better time to highlight great Australians than right now.”
Making its original debut on Seven in 1975, hosted by Mike Willesee, This Is Your Life became one of the most popular and engaging shows on television over its six-year run on the network. It was also hosted by Digby Wolfe and Roger Climpson. The program ran on the Nine Network, on and off, from 1995 to 2011.
This Is Your Life airs soon on Channel 7 and 7 Plus.
