Lifted Entertainment (Part of ITV Studios) are looking for a freelance Series Health & Safety, Risk Manager to join the team on I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of here!
ROLE:
As the Site & Series Health and Safety Manager for I’m Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, you will have overall H&S responsibility for the series including site works, gameplay and any offsite activities. You will manage a team of 3-4 people who will assist you in successfully fulfilling your duties.
As Health & Safety Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing our health and safety culture. Your key responsibilities will include:
Develop, implement and maintain strategies, plans and procedures to protect employees, property and facilities from workplace health and safety hazards.
Advising Production, Art and Unit departments in regard to Australian legislation and where appropriate UK safety legislation
Assess workplace and gameplay hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Supporting production in all safety matters related to site activities including, build, maintenance and safe operation of site activities including all working areas. ie buildings/workshops etc
Supporting production in all safety matters related to the design and other activities
Conduct thorough risk assessments of all production locations to include testing days and filming activities, identifying potential hazards, environmental hazards and implementing effective control measures for both cast and crew safety.
Understanding site compliance with official bodies, including our Site Management Plan & ensuring all departments adhere to our policies. ie environmental, noise, traffic
Conduct regular/daily inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with established safety protocols.
Supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing evacuation plans and procedures.
Providing Production, Medical, Security and Unit departments with support and advice during emergency situations
Collaborating with HODs to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations.
Ensuring H&S training records are maintained
Conducting onsite Tool Box Talks
Assessing requirement for additional safety training and provide training where a need is identified
Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with external organisations, such as government bodies and safety organisations.
Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety & risk-related matters.
Proven ability to be able to interpret and adapt risk based legislation/requirements in order to fit the Company’s operation, whilst ensuring that good practice is maintained
Providing insurers with risk information when requested
Ensuring Production, Art and Unit departments obtain the correct certification and sign off for works carried out on site
Continuing with the developing a positive safety culture on site
Liaising with the Medical Supervisor and advise on suitability of celebrities for specific games or activities
Overseeing the issuing of PPE held within the safety department
Ensuring PPE requiring statutory inspection is within date
Maintaining a risk assessment register
Reporting accidents on the ITV online reporting system
Investigating all accidents and near misses to an appropriate level
Ensuring local and UK food hygiene requirements are met in art and trials kitchens
Attending production meetings
Ensuring 3rd parties contracted locally vetted for competence and insurance.
Manage the H&S team
Essential
To have Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (Australian applicants)
To have a thorough understanding of SafeWork NSW legislation and regulations
To be a Certified member of IOSH (UK applicants only)
To have a Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop SWMS/JSAs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving, solution focused and decision-making abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a health and safety advisor role in TV/Film production
Supervision experience as a Manager
Valid Driving Licence
Ability to work on location
