BINGE today announced the highly anticipated return of the iconic reality series The Real Housewives of Melbourne with fan favourite Gina Liano confirmed to return for Season 6, with production beginning in 2027 and further cast announcements to be revealed in the coming months.
First launched in 2014, The Real Housewives of Melbourne became one of Australia’s most iconic reality series, delivering the glamour, humour, friendships and feuds that made the series a firm fan favourite. The series went on to become the most-watched reality show in Foxtel’s history, cementing its place as one of Australia’s most successful and talked-about reality franchises.
Gina Liano said:
“It’s been a while between drinks, but some things are worth waiting for.”
“I am delighted to be returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. I’ve missed the glamour, the fabulous women and, of course, the drama.”
“I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new ones and getting back to what we do best – having a good time, looking fabulous and causing a little trouble along the way.”
Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan said:
“The speculation can finally end – we’re delivering what fans have been asking for, with Gina Liano returning to The Real Housewives of Melbourne.”
“And while Gina’s return is just the beginning, we’ve got plenty more fabulous new and returning faces still to reveal.”
“The Housewives are back, Melbourne, and we can’t wait to see what unfolds.”
Beth Hart, Chief Content Officer, ITV Studios Australia said:
“The Real Housewives of Melbourne is reality television at its absolute best – glamorous, outrageous, brilliantly funny and completely unpredictable.”
“We’re incredibly excited to bring this iconic franchise back and introduce audiences to a new chapter that feels unmistakably Melbourne.”
“Our ambition is to deliver everything fans have loved about the series, while opening the door to fabulous new friendships and stories.”
“With Gina back at the heart of the action, some exciting surprises still to come and a city that provides the most spectacular playground imaginable, we can’t wait to get started.”
The new season will be an exciting co-production between ITV Studios Australia (Love Island Australia, The Voice) and Universal Television Alternative Studio UK Productions (UTAS UK), which is part of Universal Studio Group, the award-winning UK production company behind SNL UK, The Real Housewives of London, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Made in Chelsea, bringing together local production expertise with extensive experience producing some of the world’s most successful reality franchises.
The one-hour unscripted format will follow the glamorous, ambitious and often chaotic lives of a group of women navigating Melbourne’s high society, capturing their friendships, families, businesses and personal rivalries as relationships are forged, tested and fractured both on and off camera.
Season 6 will deliver a high-octane, culturally relevant and unapologetically entertaining new chapter, reconnecting with the loyal fanbase while introducing The Real Housewives of Melbourne to a new generation.
