Australia Behind Bars

Australia Behind Bars is a powerful documentary series that takes viewers behind the high walls of some of Australia’s toughest prisons.

Hosted by TV presenter Melissa Doyle, the series takes you inside the everyday lives of both male and female inmates as they deal with prison life. Set in contrast to this, is the life of the correctional officers who are responsible for maintaining order inside these prisons that hold some of Australia’s worst offenders.

With unprecedented access to three of Australia’s maximum security prisons, audiences are exposed to a life rarely seen by the general public. These are their stories of hardship, survival and hope.
